I learnt the art of violin making through two parallel paths: working in the workshop of Giovanni Lazzaro in Padua and studying at the Parma School of Violin Making, led by Maestro Renato Scrollavezza. I graduated from the latter in 2004.
In 2006, I moved to London to work at Bridgewood & Neitzert and with Florian Leonhard, in order to develop my restoration skills and techniques. To challenge myself and refine my knowledge of topics such as setup, varnish retouching, and the most innovative restoration methods, I also took "refresher courses" with Guy Rabut, Hans J. Nebel, Andrea Ortona, Iris Carr, and Gudrun Kremeier.
Restoring valuable antique Italian instruments inspires me to build new instruments in an antiqued style. The process of making copies, which requires the accurate replication of classic 18^(th)-century Cremonese instruments, provides me with constant training. Exchanges with Gábor Draskóczy and other expert copyists fuel my ongoing desire to research and improve quality.
