Nicola Zurlini was born in Pieve San Giacomo on 4 January 1965 and lives at Via Don Baldocchi No. 12, Pieve San Giacomo, Cremona. He attended the International School of Violin Making in Cremona, graduating in 1983 under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Scolari. After finishing school, he worked in the workshops of woodcarvers and sculptors to refine his manual skills. However, he never abandoned his passion for bowed string instruments, and it was his love of music that led him to devote himself entirely to building violins, violas and cellos. His time in the workshop of Maestro Roberto Collini and the teachings he received from Maestri Alfredo Primavera and Virgilio Capellini contributed significantly to the development of his personal style, greatly enriching his artistic training.
His success in violin-making competitions in Italy and abroad has made his instruments highly sought after in Italy, Japan, England and the United States, particularly for their classical design and distinctive transparent yellow-brown varnish.
