He was born in Cremona in 1957 and graduated from the International School of Violin Making in Cremona in 1981. The following year, he attended the musical instrument restoration workshop at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg under the guidance of Maestro F. Hellwig. From 1983 to 1984, he worked in the private workshop of restorer Maestro J. F. Schmitt in Lyon, where he had the opportunity to study and observe many important instruments. From 1985 to 1987 and from 1991 to 1993, he taught on the Lombardy Region's professional courses on the restoration of bowed string instruments. He also collaborated with the International School of Violin Making in Cremona. In 1988, he entered a viola in the 5th International Triennial of Violin Making in Cremona and won a silver medal. In 1994, he entered a cello in the seventh Triennial of the same event and won first prize, receiving a gold medal.

He has collaborated several times with the International School of Violin Making in Cremona on courses in the restoration and setup of bowed string instruments. Based in the historic centre of Cremona, he builds bowed string instruments inspired by classic Cremonese violin makers and contemporary masters such as G. Ornati, F. Garimberti and A. Poggi. He seeks to develop his own style while remaining true to the fundamental purpose of these instruments: to make music.
