Daniele Scolari considers himself an authentic Cremonese. He studied at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona and graduated in 1979 as a student of Maestro Gio Batta Morassi. Since 1982, he has been working alongside his brother Giorgio. His instrument making is inspired by the classical Cremonese school, particularly the Stradivari and Guarneri models. He uses only top-quality materials. His instruments, violins, violas, and cellos, are appreciated both in Italy and abroad, especially in Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, for their meticulous craftsmanship, stylistic personality, and the distinctive orange-brown varnish. In 1984, he was awarded the gold medal for Best Varnish at the Bagnacavallo Competition. In 1986, In the same competition, he won the silver medal (second prize) with a violin, and in 1988, two bronze medals (third prizes) with a violin and a viola. He has taken part in several editions of the Cremona Triennial Violin Making Competition, consistently achieving excellent results. Since 1996, he has been teaching “Construction, Varnishing, and Restoration” at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona. A lifelong music enthusiast, he has broad musical experience, ranging from light music to liturgical organ performance. He is also the director of a vocal and instrumental ensemble, with which he has performed dozens of concerts.
