Eugenio Naso, was born in 1987 and has always had a passion for both woodworking and music. In 2012, he enrolled in the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano, studying under the guidance of Maestri Lorenzo Lippi, Federico Gabrielli, and Gabriele Negri. During his fourth year, he began a significant and long-lasting collaboration in the workshop of Maestro Lorenzo Lippi, where he developed essential skills in the construction and restoration of classical guitars and mandolins. He graduated as a Maestro Liutaio with a specialisation in plucked instruments, presenting a thesis on the physical properties of metal mandolin strings. In 2018, he returned to Bologna, his hometown, where he opened his own lutherie workshop, focusing primarily on the construction of classical guitars. “My approach to instrument design is deeply rooted in dialogue with the guitarist. I believe that the work of a luthier cannot exist without this ongoing exchange. My goal is to meet the needs of today’s musicians with a modern vision, one that emphasises balance, dynamic control, and tonal richness, while maintaining a deep respect for the Spanish tradition from which I draw precious inspiration. Another fundamental aspect of my work is attention to aesthetic detail and seeking unique color combinations that enhance the natural beauty of the materials, giving each guitar a distinctive and recognisable character.”
