Federico Falaschi, after obtaining his professional diploma in 2001, he had both the opportunity and the courage to work alongside highly skilled and experienced luthiers, in order to understand what truly defines an excellent instrument. He collaborated with Maestri Paolo Vettori & Sons in Florence, and with Maestro Lorenzo Frignani in Modena, and took part in numerous masterclasses led by internationally renowned violin makers such as Hans Nebel and Guy Rabut. After opening his first workshop in Modena, reviving the historic Masetti laboratory, he later moved his activity to Pistrino, a small village in the hills between Tuscany and Umbria, where he now focuses on the construction and repair of bowed string instruments. Thanks to relationships with musicians and dealers across Europe, the United States, and Asia, and through participation in major national and international trade fairs, Falaschi instruments have reached a global audience, being recognised for their unique and well-defined personality. His models are inspired by the classical tradition, combining the elegance of Stradivari with the creativity of Guarneri. He also draws significant influence from the early 20th-century Italian school, particularly the work of Soffritti, Garimberti, Ornati, and Sgarabotto, luthiers who contributed to the second golden age of Italian violin making. All construction processes are entirely handcrafted, with every detail of the violin carefully refined to highlight both aesthetic beauty and acoustic quality. That goes from the selection of the wood to the ingredients used for the elegant varnish. He is a member of the Italian Violin Making Association (A.L.I.), with which he actively participates in the most important initiatives within the field.
