Luigi Aquilino was born in Cremona in 1969. He attended the School of Violin Making and graduated in 1987 under the guidance of Maestra Vanna Zambelli. He then spent eight years at the Bottega CEE (EEC Workshop), where he gained his first work experience alongside other violin makers.
He has participated in various exhibitions, including the Baveno Biennial in 1991 and 1992, and the Triennial of Bowed String Instruments in 1994 and 1997.
He underwent further training at Maestro Morassi's workshop, refining his style in the tradition of classical Cremonese violin making. In 1995, he established his own workshop on Corso Matteotti in Cremona. He draws particular inspiration from Stradivari, using the 1724 model for his violins. For violas and cellos, he uses his own designs based on the Stradivari style.
