Marco Corrado (born in Taranto in 1981) is based in Montegiordano Marina. After earning a degree in Educational Sciences in Parma, he began training as a violin maker at the school of Maestro R. Scrollavezza in Noceto. He then refined his craft at the Accademia Cremonensis under the guidance of Maestri Gamberini, Colonna and Gallo. He also studied bow making with Maestra Raffaella Macuz and varnishing techniques with Sofia Vettori.
He founded "Liuteria Jonica Corrado" with his father, Vincenzo, a centre of excellence where classical tradition coexists with experimental research. Notable projects include the construction of a five-string violin designed by Maestro Mauro Tortorelli and the use of native woods sourced from Pollino National Park.
