Andrea Varazzani was born in Naples in 1982 and then moved to Sesto Cremonese in 1992. In 2000, he received the diploma from the “Antonio Stradivari” School of Violin Making in Cremona, under the guidance of Masters Massimo Negroni and Wanna Zambelli. For five years, he worked under Maestro Daniele Tonarelli, refining his style and working techniques. In 2006, he opened his own workshop in Sesto Cremonese, just a few kilometers from Cremona. His work is inspired by the classical Cremonese violin making tradition, with great attention to material selection and the tonal qualities of the sound. He uses both spirit and oil varnishes, which are transparent and brilliant. He participated in the Antonio Stradivari International Triennial Violin Making Competition in 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2015. In 2008, he took part in the 2nd National Violin Making Competition “Città di Pisogne”, winning a bronze medal with a violin. He is a member of the “Antonio Stradivari” Violin Makers Consortium of Cremona and is licensed under the “Cremona Liuteria” brand. He is also a member of the Italian Violin Making Association (A.L.I.).
