Stefania Bodini was born in Cremona in 1973. In 1992 she graduated at the Internationai Violinmaking School in Cremona. After this she worked in the CEE Workshop where she stayed for four years. In 1996 she began working in the workshop of the masters Gio Batta and Simeone Morassi to perfect her work. She makes violins and violas following the models and style of the classical
Cremonese School. She takes great care in the choice of wood and her work is meticulous. She uses red-brown spirit varnish over a yellow underground.
Stefania Bodoni has participated in various competitions in Italy and abroad including the competitions in Baveno, Poznan, Mittenwald and Paris.
She has won several prizes in the Baveno competition:
1995 - Giorgio Foschi Prizefor a violin;
1997 - 'Provincia di Cremona" Prize for the best varnish,
1999 - Giorgio Foschi Prize for a violin, awarded for the overall homogeneity of the work.
She lives and works in Castelleone (in the Cremona province) at Via Villa Battaglia 4.
